New Diesel-882!
Picked up a new tractor today and it was only hiding 10 minutes away from my house! She needs a TLC, it's gonna be a long project...
My first Diesel! Woo Hoo!

Welcome to smokerville!
Looks like it's missing the radiator fan shroud and the "firewall" just forward of the battery. The big deal is you've already got a 3-point hitch! I wouldn't be surprised if that thing runs like a top once you get it going. One thing I would suggest right up front, get that radiator down to a local shop and have them pressure test it. Mine just gave up the ghost this past month. It's about $350 to get a new core put in, and between $700-$800 for a new replacement. I don't know if you're "all-in" money-wise, but this might help you make decisions going forward. |

Congrats on the 882 find. Welcome to the smoker club. I'm with Saturn, the Cat O is a plus. The diesels are nice tractors. Once you get her back together and running you'll be grinning ear to ear.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
