Default 108 throttle cable routing

OK, the rebuilt shortblock is in, new head, new carb, she fires up ok, sounds good. All that's left is finishing putting together the PTO and figuring out the right way to route the throttle cable, and on that latter point I am totally lost. This tractor came to me with the engine in a box and a 7hp off some non-cub-cadet scabbed in. If I route the cable direct to the governor bracket I have a foot or two left over to try to figure out what to do with, Can anyone please, PLEASE enlighten me on the proper throttle cable routing?

Default solved?

I think it's an aftermarket cable assembly [Oregon, specifically] and there is no reason I can't shorten it. The pics I can find in service manuals etc show quite a direct routing...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
