Default Kohler crankshaft

I am rebuilding a K321. The cylinder had been bored to .020 over and installed new valve guides. The crankshaft needs to be ground, but my local machine shop no longer does that. I've called all the machine shops around and the only one still turning cranks, won't work on one this small. Does anyone know of someone that I could ship it to to be ground? I have all the parts and am ready to get this Cub Cadet running again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On a quick side note, all the machine shops said they were short on manpower. That is the main reason they couldn't help me. They were paying anywhere from $35 to $50 an hour and still couldn't find help.

Thanks again.

No such luck. It's .004 out of round and 1.4913 at the widest part. Thanks for the info. I'll give them a call and also check on shipping.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
