Total kick in the teeth!

After a great Easter dinner yesterday, my mother-in-law sprung something on us after everyone had left.. She is selling the farm and already has a buyer!!

This TOTALLY SUCKS!! and hard as it is not to get selfish on losing the 800yrd rifle range, my only deer hunting spot (that we have been doing some awesome deer management on), and it was my main Cub playground. She really was starting to get swamped by the upkeep of the place. All in all it is for the better which matters for her, she needs to enjoy her retirement. She'll have the place until Sept, but it's still hard as heck to swallow it all..

Jay, I feel your pain, been thru it myself.. I was raised by my grandparents, and spent my youth maintaining the 56 acre mini farm we lived on, even built a new shop and a pad for a larger new shop. As my grandmother got older she got harder and harder to get along with and we were told the family place was sold for less than half market value to a neighbor who she liked better than us.. She was in the process of donating the farm to the Nature Conservancy and the neighbor found out and made a deal. He wouldn't sell it back, either.

It actually turned out better than expected as getting away from that area was the best thing in the world for me....but forgiveness was a very hard, but needed thing. In then end I discovered if I wanted something it was up to me to get it, including happiness with my own situation in life. What I did with the situations handed me is up to me and me alone, and blaming the folks who hurt me was not gonna help. 14 Cubs helped some, but not entirely either.

all nice and snug in my little shop.

I hear ya, it'll actually free up more time to say, maybe get another cub or two. Just need to keep tell'n myself that

Ya, hate to hear that... especially with family. I guess it's good being an only child and only grandchild on both sides of the family! I'm blessed that my grandparents with acreage put my name on the deed long ago.

sometimes family is a LOT to deal with. I have witnessed the squandering of inheritance money, and great things given to these people. All I can say is Just Look out for yourself, and your loved ones. Everyone is on their own in this world, and most don't care about anyone else. ... I may be getting off point here. gonna go.
