New Cub addition

Well now I went and did it. I had to put a small addition on the back of the machine shed. I had an overhang about 6' by 20' feet wide off the back I used for storage of the old original and a parts tractor and odds and ends.
Well last weekend I got a bug to put another 12' by 20' wide addition and close the whole thing in to make a cub crib for my "collection".
Well I really didn't put it up (dah) I called in the boys to take care of it. Now just waiting on the steel to get it closed in. It's nothing fancy, I got on the Kabota and hauled some lime rock for the floor, and Dad did the grunt work with shovel and rake to get it to grade, good enough for parking the tractors, and not taking up the space in the shed and shop. Plus they won't have to share their space with other equipment

If some of you are wondering how I get on a tractor, I have a ramp to wheel up on to get level with the floor boards of the Kabota and use a long board to slide across from the chair to the tractor seat, works!

Todd first off let me say what your able to do is impressive! You can't keep a good man down!

Very jealous! I have been wanting to put up a pole building out back but every time I get some money put together, something else springs up and needs fixed around here.

Duke, I always thought I had two choices, "run with the big dogs, or stay on the porch", I chose not to stay on the porch!
Back in 85 when I crashed I had a physical therapist that pushed me and pushed me and I never knew why she was so "mean" to me. The others were very lenient with their patents, I know one of those patents who's now a friend, and his life is, well rather boring. He sits around the house and does nothing with his life. Not my idea of living. Life is to short not to get out and live. I look at it like this. I'm the same person after the crash as before, except this time I can't walk, and I need to ask for help in doing things from time to time. But don't we all?

Nice job on the addition! You planning on cementing the floor or just packing down the rock? Definately looks like more room for Cubs. Wish I had that much space to move around in! I don't know the story behind your "accident", but from what I can gather your one heck of a fighter and that is very nice to see.

Seen many people over the years have physical problems and just give up on life. Way I see it, you get one kick at the can so you better make it a good one and you Sir are doing that by the sounds of it.

One suggestion to your addition if I may.....throw a window in or a sheet of that translucent (spelling??) sheeting in the roof. Add a little natural light to the Cub day, will be even more enjoyable than it already is. I have one window in my garage, its ok but wish I had about 3 more. Just my

Thanks Mike, I've got a good size door and a small window in the west side. (The other side) It's only going to be for storage, a place for them to sleep! I'm tired of moving them around every time I want to work on one in the shop, plus there just isn't enough room. The shed I'm building off used to be a barn back when we had beef cattle, that's why you can see the manger in some of the pictures. But now it's a (machine shed) with the Kabota, bush hog, John Deere corn planter and broke tiller along with a bunch of food plot equipment and just JUNK!
Add to that a few Cubs and it don't leave alot of room. Everytime I want to get to one we have to move half the stuff out, this way it all will have it's own little spot.
No cement floor, don't have money for that, the lime rock will pack hard, with some water on it and the wife can run over it with the compactor. We use the lime rock all the time around here for drive ways, or parking lots, seems to get harder with time.
By the way, thanks for the kind words, when I broke my neck in 85 I never thought about giving up, I think it's in my jeans, our family never said, "I can't" so there for I never did, just find a differant way to do something. My father would of kicked my behind if I ever thought like that.
