The ignition switch for a 782 and the one needed for a M-18 are totally different.
There are two different wiring diagrams for the 782 model. depending on the Chassis Serial Number. If you supply your serial number, I'll send the correct wiring modification for your tractor.

FWIW
In a nutshell: The m-18 requires a ground position to kill the mag.ignition. Your oem switch provides power to a ignition coil or no power to the coil to stop the engine.( M-18 does not use this system, it has a mag) The start terminal will remain the same. There are several ways to go about this, one involves a simple relay, and several articles here relating to this, just use the search feature.
