|
Anyone having problems with their diesel running warm? i changed the thermostat and antifreeze flushed the system and blew out the radiator. It seems to run around the 230 mark all the time. Maybe sending unit or temp gauge bad? Wish i could get a temp gauge with numers instead of the C and H. Any ideas fellas?

Debris screen for the front of the radiator clean? Mine gets hot fast if it has much stuff on it at all.. Otherwise I run about the first tic mark on the gauge.

Is the top radiator hose insulated from the engine heat?
I'm wondering if your water pump is going bad?

Mine usually runs right in the middle of the gauge. IF I leave it idling for any amount of time, the temp gradually climbs up to where you say yours is running, so if I have to do any work with it idling, I put it on a fast idle, and it hold at the middle. When you say you blew out the radiator, are you referring to the outside? Last year when I changed the antifreeze in mine, I noticed a lot of corrosion in the radiator at the tops of the tubes. I went to NAPA and got some radiator flush and followed the directions. I think it was something like Super Flush. How is the inside of your radiator? If clean, I would wonder about the temp gauge and sending unit for it.

the insulation os gone from top hose maybe i'll wrap it...hopefully water pump isnt going...could be the gauge or sending unit. the top of the radiator looked good. i flushed it with fleetguard radiator flush.

I have not paid attention. Is the cooling fan mounted to a clutch, or is it bolted on? If a clutch it might be slipping.

According to my Kubota Workshop manual for the D600, some suggestions for overheating:
Engine Oil Insufficient Fan Belt Broken or tensioned improperly Cooling Water Insufficient Radiator net and radiator fin clogged with dust Inside of radiator corroded Cooling water flow route corroded Radiator cap defective Water pipe damaged Thermostat Defective Water pump defective Mechanical seal defective Overload running Head gasket defective Incorrect injection timing Unsuitable fuel used. I would look at and eliminate the easy stuff first
