Is my bracket going to be too weak?
I started on my 882 starter/glow plug upgrade but I'm concerned about a PO mod. They cut the engine bracket and I will need to drill a hole for the battery terminal but is this bracket going to be weakened too much. Should I pull it out and weld a piece back in?

I would think it would be ok, but you have to pull the bracket off anyhow to do the starter mod, so you might as well weld a piece in to make sure there are no issues. That's what I would do if it were me.

I had to order a new manifold because the old was broken and drilled the hole for the upgrade with the bracket in the tractor. I will pull the bracket and weld it up but not until I hear the engine run. My 100% new China starter came last week and I installed it yesterday, replaced the fuel lines, filters, upgraded glow plugs and washed all the grease and grime from it. I hope to have it running this week.
