Need some clarification....
Not sure if I put this in the right section...if not, I am sorry.
When you read a for sale add on e-bay and they have this listed in it....what should I think about it? From the stand point of what is the problem, what would cause this, is it a concern and if so should this stop me from buying the tractor: 1981 INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER BUILT CUB CADET WITH A 17 HORSEPOWER TWIN CYLINDER KOHLER, HYDROSTATIC DRIVE AND LIFT. THE HYDRO DRIVE IS JERKY, STILL OPERATES LIFT, ACCELS IN FORWARD AND REVERSE. ALL ORIGINAL, EXCEPT KEY WAS ELIMINATED BY PREVIOUS OWNER, SET UP LIKE FARM TRACTOR TO START, AND RUN LIGHTING. ???????  GREAT! I did put this in the wrong section now how do I move it????

Unless this overly priced......I would buy it. It is probably a 782. Clarify one thing. Get the Chassis Serial number. This will tell you if the motor is the Series I or Series II Kohler KT-17.

DUH! I guess I should have included this....it is a 782 with a 17hp Kohler in it....but what about the comment about the hydro drive...that kind of scares me, or is it nothing to worry about?

currently it is bidding at $650.00 us funds w/o the deck or any other attachments. So what does he mean about the key being eliminated? Is it a push button start now?
