Default My New 1811

Well another followed me home. I picked this up from my mothers neighbor. I was in her yard a couple of weeks ago and he came over and asked me if I still collected old Cub's and I said I did. He said he had one for sale and I asked him if was another neighbors that had passed away. I knew he had bought it since I had seen it there. Anyway I asked him how much and he said he would like to get 300 out of it and I said sold. It runs great and the hydro works great. The only thing it needs is some new deck bearings and a little cleaning. The 46" deck is not rusted out like others I have seen. Here is a couple of pic's.

Default Just call you Lucky

Great score on the '11. I love mine and use it for all kinds of things. Since I added power steering to it I think it's almost perfect. I know the guys like the old ones with manual trannies but for a practical mower and all around tractor you can't do much better than an 1811. Clean it out real good and change the engine and tranny oil and filters and you will be good for another year.

Nice 1811. Inspectorudy, I agree a hydro is a much better machine for me. It has infinite speed adjustment. I prefer a hydro for tilling, plowing snow and definitely mowing. I have a 1200 and don't use it much. With a geared tractor one gear is too slow and the next is too fast.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
