Default Cub 1641 boggs down

I have a cub 1641 with the briggs 16 horsepower with the 48" deck. When mowing after about 20 yards or with any speed above creeping the engine boggs down the shoot gets clogged i have to stop clap the deck. The tractor seems to run great on real short grass but other than that it doesn't, any suggestions,, i did just remove the deck clean it and spray down with wd-40 so the grass wouldn't stick. Help the slightest bit. Kinda acts like i am always mowing wet grass but i am not. Also cust grass only shoots out about 2 feet. Thanks for any help.

Lots of possibilities with this one. Is it a mower or engine problem? For the mower check
1 Blades sharp and the lift wings are not worn out.
2 Spindle bearings greased, in good condition and they turn freely
3 Belts in good condition not slipping
4 Idler pulleys good condition and they turn freely
5 Grass build up on the underside
6 Baffles in place.
7 PTO working properly

Engine
1 Tuned up
2 Clean air filter
3 Clean fuel
4 Clean fuel filter
5 Valves adjusted to spec
6 Carburetor clean and working properly

The tractor runs good, i use it to blow snow in winter time and it seems fine, has new blades on it, new mule belt, underside is clean but cloggs up quickly because blades slow down when bogging.

Is it the engine that is slowing or the blades?

OK if that is the case you have something binding up or you have a problem with the engine not making enough power. Look at the list of things to check and see if that helps.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
