Cub comeback?
Are newer cubs getting better? The reason I ask, is local deere dealer is now carrying a lot of new cub products from tractors to side by sides. I never cared much for deere but I felt cubs fell off the premium tractor market and now the deere dealer has a ton of cub stuff in showroom and on sidewalk and looks nice.

Although the Cubs are not the quality they used to be, they are still one of the higher quality machines on the market today. As much as many people on this site will not admit it, they will still last for many years when taken care of and used for their intended purpose of cutting grass and pulling a light cart or small aerator or spreader. Yes, the old machines can be used for gardening and other tasks that new ones will not do as well, but there is a larger demand now for mowing machines than there is gardening machines. More demand for them means that is what the manufacturers will supply.

Well, I don't think they will come back to previous glory but, there are some nicer machines out there. I saw a newer cub diesel on Craigslist. with a cat. 1 3pt hitch.

I have an '09 GT2544 and it is a very capable machine. I would put it above any other brand GT in the same class. Especially what you get for the money. My only gripe with the new ones was how the plastic hood opened, but they have since changed that design. I have the sleeve hitch and push blade for mine and it is a very, very capable machine. The Kohler command is a great engine. Yes, there are some areas where corners have been cut to save a dollar, but like I said, if you get out there and start comparing apples to apples in the GT category that the current Cub GTs are in, I feel that it's the most superior product out there.
