Default 102-D refurb

OK here is my first refurb and I decided to start with our 102-D. My Dad bought this tractor back in 1974 or 75 and I have been pounding this poor little tractor since the late 70's and want to make it look great once again.

We bought new tires all away around for him so I will start there.

Now since we got the rear tires off I noticed a bunch of rust on the inside of the one wheel (had to remember why) but remembered I had put fix-a-flat in that one and it was rusting it away, so from now on no more gooo for me.

So for the last week or so the wheels and tires are first on the hit list.

Tomorrow night when the other wheel is dry enough I will install the tire and have more pics. Now this project will take us well into next year so I don't have a clue how much time this will take but it will look great when finished.

Looking good so far! When I first read the title, I figured you had a 102 diesel and I thought "how cool".
The fact she's an original 102 you've had in the family for years is even cooler.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
