Default What is your favorite, and why?

Here might be a fun thread- what is your favorite CC, and why? It does not have to be one that you own, and can only be one.

Here is mine.

Dad's 125.

Picture of it about a year ago.

Picture of it approx. 25 years ago (that's me on the seat.)

It was the tractor I learned on. I learned how to maintain it properly, till properly, and mow properly. We used it around the house for a lot of things; yard work, towing carts (we called wagons) taking kids on "hayrides," towing the pop up camper trailer around, and so forth. Dad taught me how to run it well and I've applied everything I know on my 147 that I bought this past spring.

My honest 'favorite to run' Cub, would hands-down be my Super-diesel...The 1782!

My second favorite 'vintage' Cub, would be the 100.

My favorite Cub to run is my 2182 but my 1210/1640 will probably always have a space in the shop just because of all the work it's done for me since it was new and it's kind of an odd ball now that it has a 1440 drive line and a 2160 engine, sort of a Cyclops with a steel hood. Guess I would have to blame my late uncles Original for getting me into the Cub fold.

Yeah I bought it that way and it doesn't bother me. I think a PO had it crap out on him and he replaced it with a lever. I would sorta like to put one again; the switch on the dash is still there, but I grew up on a lever and don't mind that it's not original to the tractor. Considering the cost and reliability of the electric lift, it's doubtful I'm going to put one back on it.

I also have a lot of tree roots in my back yard that require the deck lifted while mowing and the lever makes it easy to quick lift and drop. If anything I might put on a hydraulic lift.

Ole Dually is my favorite, always dependable and does what I need to do. The super is gaining though.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
