Default It's the season for those cute critters, NOT!

There I was sitting in my cozy, comfy, garage smoking my cigar & browsing the world with my I-Pad. In my peripheral vision I thought I saw a blur wiz by? I focus in on my work bench & saw the blur again? Yup, they are looking for the warmth of new nesting spots. Hey my garage is heated.

MOUSE.

I'm usually pretty good in setting a few mouse traps every Fall but I forgot this year. So I ran out & bought a pack of Victor mouse traps & baited them with peanut butter, their favorite snack. We'll see what I catch this year.

I won't post any pic's of those cute buggers, cause we all know what they look like.

Their tenacity is amazing!

Nik,

Yep,
Gotta love those little !! I live in an older farmhouse and every spring and fall, they pack their bags and try to move in. Just emptied a trap this am and this was inside my house. I, too use the victor traps with peanut butter. Works like a charm.

Oh come on guys, they are sooo cute and they like Cubs maybe even better than we do. They like to build nice warm cozy condos in the blower housings and they only eat some of the wiring.

yep, ignition coils can get spendy too. Try "fresh cab" sold a fleet farm $13, its some potpourri stuff, worked well in my old pontiac.
as a side note, had them little critters get in my gas water heater in my shop. one day it smelled a bit "musty" but never thought too much about it, the next morning, I unlocked the door and WHAM, the smell hit me, most everything I ate was on the sidewalk

Nik,
My co-worker spotted a mouse enter a long pvc pipe laying on the floor. He then grabbed the pipe up and spilled out the mouse into the saltline. Now that was cool. The salt is about 450* and instantly vaporized the rodent.

I'll have to get some of that Fresh Cab from the fleet.
I used moth balls last year and it seemed to help a little, seemed so anyway. But had the wife pick me up some traps to, just forget to check the darn things.
Also have poison out behind the tractors, don't worry, no dogs in the cub barn.

If you have pets, poison is a chancy choice. Pets will chew them up.

While on the subject, those critters can jump about a foot, & squeeze through a hole the size of a pencil. So far I have 2 traps in my garage, 2 under my deck, & 2 in front of the garage. Caught 3 boogers so far. 1 in the garage the first day I placed it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
