Default Bought another QL home today

Hey fellas. Bought home today a 1250. Well I think it is anyway. It has a 1250 dash on it. BUT..... Did any of the 1250's come factory with hydro lift? Mine has it. Dont know if this is a "rare" option or if someone swapped in the lift. It just rolled off the trailer and I had to go eat mommas breakfast, so I have not gotten a chance to really research the motor yet to see if maybe its a 1650 and put a 1250 dash on it. For the price I paid ($100) I wasnt asking the seller many questions. It ran, hydro lift worked, had deck, working pto, good tires, side panels, carb/air filter cover, tow hitch. Now that breakfast is over gotta go do some "work" on it though. Hood "pins" are missing and it only runs if the choke is closed. Also hydro seems weak. Carb adjustments will be needed. Probally pull the head and decarb and put a new gasket in. Make sure its actually a 12hp vs 14 or 16hp.

PICTURES WILL BE UP ASAP!!! Gotta take them and get them posted so PLEASE dont give me a hard time on that!! HSAHHAHAHA.

Take care

John

Some 1250's did come from the factory with hydraulic lift. Some even had dual hydraulics........ Sounds like a nice find. You could check the serial number kind code to see if it's a 12, 14, or 1650. Also, you could also check the engine and see what size it is. Congrats and we can't wait to see pics.

where is a reference on model from the serial number? I thought all of the cubs were numbered sequentially and only good for when it was manufactured. Obviously, you can check the engine casting or read the head bolt pattern for the engine model.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
