I am planning on install a Oil Pressure Gauge on my 784. I have a few questions.
(A) What brand of gauge fits and looks well into the 82 Series dash....?? (B) What tubing is best suited (ie: Steel, Copper, etc) and the tubing size...??

This should work and it's only $16 and change for the complete kit. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...ntent=17122009 Where in the dash are you going to put it? As far as the plumbing goes the plastic line works well.

How much oil pressure is normal on these engines?? I would want a gauge that displayed a reading of about 80% of full needle movement at full oil pressure.
In other words, I would use a 0-40 psi gauge if I was expecting to display 32 psi. Also, an electrical gauge may be a good choice, less chance of oil spray from a broken line. And if it is electrical, you can adjust the meter indication to what you want "normal reading" to be with a resister. I replaced the NLA sending unit on the temperature gauge of my 584 IH, the reading was too high. I added a variable resistor to find the resistance of the meter reading I liked, then substituted a fixed resistor of the same resistance. It works great!!

Roland,
I mounted mine in the center, but I would do it different if I was doing it again. IMG_20130619_220519.jpg If you want, put an IH gauge on it! https://www.tractorpartsasap.com/Oil...s_p/111846.htm I agree with Sam, I'd just use the plastic line. That's what I did on my 1811 like 10yrs ago, still no problems! |

On an 82 I'd relocate the hour meter to under the hood and use that hole for the oil pressure gauge. Not like you need to look at an hour meter all that often.

But, I did it years ago...... Or, I'd find a plastic dash off a diesel. Saw one on ebay the other day...... Here it is. Kinda pricey! $$$ Just a thought. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
