Hi guys ,

This is my first post but I have been reading and learning like crazy for awhile now . I bought my first cub this past May. It is an 1812 that has 493 hours on it that I bought out of York , Pa. It has a 44C mower deck and I got a 45" 451 snow-blower with it also . I started to got over the tractor to do maintenance items ( it was female owned ) well the mower belt was broke in two under the cover ( it was packed tight with clipping) allowing only the center blade to be cutting and the blades themselves were horrible ( new blades are 15 1/8 long ) these were only 11" at best . So i noticed the battery had caused some rust on the frame so i decided to paint it and well one thing lead to another and hears the result .

Thanks , it was a rattle can restoration . I used tractor supply Majik cub cadet yellow and Krylon appliance epoxy paint for the white( 3$ a can at wal-mart clearance isle ) I pulled all the tins and lowered the rear end to paint it but didn't pull the motor . next time it will be taken down to the frame . I added the rear BKT tires after sliding down the hill behind my house on the factory turf tires , now i need to brake them down to add the washer fluid i got at wal-mart .

I'm already eying up my next project . my work has either a 1872 or a 2072 SGT with a Kwik Way loader they are getting rid of . If i get it i may part out the loader as i have a Gehl skid loader to do any heavy lifting . So the disease has started . :

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
