Default Battery Box & Tow Hitch - 2072

I got started on my new tow hitch/battery box today.I want to romove any possibility of shattering the aluminum rear end and also wanted extra battery power just in case.Welding wasn't an option for this part as I want to always be able to remove a couple bolts and have access to the rear.Went ahead and drained the fluid while I was at it.Also this will allow me to turn sharper without getting the duals into the trailer tongue. Its a start, and all for tonight my darn palms are so sore from pushing on the drill. One more thing its all 1/4" steel. My battery power will be double when Im done.More pics as work progresses.

I got a little closer to being finished today.Still have to do some minor grinding, finish the lid and Im gonna reverse the mounting bolts and weld them in place so that there are four studs that way I just loosen the nuts and the entire box comes off. Also drill the holes for the cables.Im just so glad and relieved that the hitch is completely seperate from the aluminum rear.No more worries when Im pulling 350/400 lbs of firewood out of the woods.

If you break that housing with the case brace and that plate I don't want to know what you where doing with it. Something more important will go first.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
