Default Hydrostatic question
New owner of a 107. Tractor goes forward and reverse fine returns to Neutral when braking no creep. But today I noticed I could push tractor around when not running no matter where the locking lever was located so it is always in neutral. Is there something wrong with transmission or something not hooked up right? Should i just ignore this or could something be wrong or go wrong?

"IF" someone switch from the Manual Relief Valves to the Automatic Type, then that would be normal.

IF you have then Manual Type of Relief Valves, then I am thinking there is something wrong with these valve(s).

FWIW, I have a 105 that does the same thing, runs great, pulls fine, pushes snow and goes up and down hill as it should. It's been like that for a long time, it doesn't have the auto release valves. It also happens to be the one that leaves a little puddle on the floor.

I'll put a new gasket in it one of these days, but I'm not going to worry about the ease of rolling, until something no longer works. (not at all sure that is the right thing to do though)

I just realized how important this site is....So I joined....Have been playing with Cubs for 30 odd years and now realize how much I do not know....To the point,I have several leaky Dump Valves which I intend to redo as I have the equipment....I always considered that the main purpose of these valves was to bypass the motor and allow the wheels to turn when pushed or on an extreme incline but I was mistaken.....They are in there to maintain the high pressure circuits at a maximum of 3500 PSI and prevent physical damage to the aluminum case....It all makes sense to me now that I know their their real purpose....Used to roll the tractor without engine power is a bonus feature of the overall design and not the intended use...Something else I found is that sealing the vent hole in the valve top(weld up) will not work....Yesterday I tried it on my 782 since I do not care if it will roll or not....Mig'd both them closed and installed them.....No power to the diff in either direction......Ground off the welds and away she went....Thanks for your patience
