Default Going to look at a 2072 tomorrow.

Listed in the CL finds on OCC, I talked to the owner for awhile today to get an idea of the condition and it needs some work but, doesn't sound too bad. Had a new Kohler 20hp installed in it about 10 years ago. It needs all the average tinkering like carb rebuild, battery, tuneup, and has a broken bracket/spindle where the power steering cylinder hooks to. I don't know much about supers so, are there any tips on what to look out for on this model? I don't have any pics yet but, I'll get some when I get up there.

Thanks.

Take a good look at the transmission mounts, look for oil leaks at the bottom of the steering box/ control valve. Drive shaft. etc. If it's the one up in Keene for $500 it probably a good deal. Pretty sure Patton has the PS bracket.

Where are you from? What do you think of our snowstorm? I don't think I'm going to Keene today. I did'nt think we were going to get as much as we did.

If or when you get it get ready for a great time to be had,I've had a few cubs but none of them hold a candle to being as well liked as my 2072.Oh and if you're a tall person, you'll absolutely love all the leg room.Good luck and

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
