Cub brothers.....I really would appreciate your opinions regarding the attached. I found this today only about 25 minutes from me. I have been looking for a 100 just because and he also has a 70. I currently have a 71 and 73 but I have a difficult time passing what appears to be good deals. I spoke with the guy and he's willing to let me have both for $850. The 100 has fenders, reflectors are good and lights that work. He reports that it runs good and doesn't smoke. The 70 has fenders but no lights and also reports that it runs well. He knows the value of things and was very nice about it when he suggested I not come over just to try to get a lower price. He asked $500 for the 100 and $400 for the 70. We all know that fenders alone have been selling for $200+ so this one factor makes it hard to pass on these. What do you think? He also has a new pan seat that he'll let me have for $75 if I buy either one. Thanks.

I think he's a bit high on the price. What happened to the tunnel on the 70??? Yes the fenders are worth some money, but if you're not going to sell them, they don't add $200 to the value. $500 for the 100, which looks OK, but no deck or anything. I'm thinking $400 TOPS. The 70 looks rough. $250 TOPS. If the tunnel really is chopped like it appears, then less than $250 for sure. This is only MY opinion. Take it with a grain of salt...

That seems to be about right for both of them, will he go any lower by chance?

The tunnel on the 70 isn't chopped up. It looks like tire chains laying across it.

It probably is a little steep, if you want them and think it's worth it, then go for it.

Yes, chains laying on the 70. The front of the 70 is stock, someone painted it.
No I don't think he'll go lower but I would still offer less. Thanks for your opinions. I sometimes have buyers remorse because I like something and jump on it but after a while it fades because the money just keeps getting worth less and less. Look at some of the crazy prices things go for on Ebay!! He has the creeper too but he's at $200 for that and I know I don't need that. Thanks again.

I like the older stuff but 850 seems a touch high, I think 750 would be max. The 1810 however looks pretty sharp for the money.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
