Default Reasonable price

Hey guys. I spotted a 2284 whit a 60" deck and it says it has a 3-point on an auction I am going to in a couple of days. What do you guys think would be a reasonable price to pay for it. Looks like it's in fairly good shape.

Thanks in advance.
Barry.

In an auction setting don't be surprized if that doesn't fetch in the neighborhood of 2000 dollars. People bid stupid prices at auction for cubs. Half the time the auctioneers have designated people in the crowd bidding stuff up to fetch better money. If it were me I would set a max price I'm willing to go on said machine and if it goes higher that that it wasn't ment to be. Prolly 1500 is what I think it's worth. Good luck

Before I give a price, let me say this; I've seen a 2182 go around me for $350, running. I have a 2284 with a 54" deck (no 3pt) that was had for less than $600. At the beginning of spring, another 2284 sold around me for $800, no full 3pt, it had the upper arms, and a 54" deck. That being said, if the hours are decent (less than 600-800 or so) AND care looks to have been taken, I'd go as high as $1000-$1200, but that's just me. Keep in mind, without a 3pt, dual hydraulics, low hours, PTO, etc it's just an oversized Cyclops. Don't get me wrong, they are GREAT machines, super for mowing, hauling, etc, but without options, it'll cost $$$$ to get them to great super status

Edit: Ooohhh, it has a bumper. Pretty!!

$1500- $2000.00 is what I would pay for it if it runs decent. You will end up putting $500-1000.00 into it depending on how nice you want it. Ask me how I know.

I am hoping that most of the others will be distracted by the green mowers. About the only thing I don't like about it is all the plastic body panels, but if it goes for the right price it'll come home with me.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
