Default My "new" 1882

Hello all. My old machine (craftsman) died so I was able to get this. An 1882 from a friend. I know it was well taken care of mechanically so I had no issues with handing over $600.00 for it. The belts had just been replaced along with new blades by a local shop 2 months ago. It runs really well. Only thing I'd like to do is replace the seat with a nicer one. I'd like to see what else I can attach to it. Can there be a rototiller maybe? I haven't found much out what I can and can not do as far as things past cutting my land.
so any advice on what I can do? what I should look for? etc. I'm in northeast PA

First of all......

There are attachments you can get for the 1882. For a rear rototiller, you'd need to find a three point hitch and rear pto, along with a rear tiller. Those three things themselves are very pricey. IMHO, I'd put a three point on it, then you could put a plow, disc, or cultivator behind it. They are pretty handy tractors. You'll love the power steering. BTW, you did very well on the price.

the only issue with it at the moment is the deck height indicator doesn't work. maybe a missing link .. I have to see how it functions in order to fix it. other than that I'm golden at the moment.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
