Default I guess its time

I have been resistant to getting my tractor ready for winter as I was hoping to not need it but that doesn't appear to be the case. We got about 4" of snow yesterday so when I got home I tried to plow with the cub without weights or chains, well as you can imagine it didn't work out so well (although I had a really good time doing donuts on the road with it) so I have my rear tires with me to get filled with calcium so when I get home I can bolt them on and chain up. Anybody else holding off till the last minute?

Yep. That'd be me too! 1811 with all hoods and engine tins off in the corner. Engine was due for a cleaning. Need to pull the carb and clean it. Acted like it was starting to run lean. 450 blower in pieces, parts on the bench to fix it. If it snows, I'll get motivated. I've got the Lo-Boy and a 7' blade.

Most times that would be me too. But this year I am ready but my son's tractor is definitely not ready. The mower is off but we need to mount the behemoth 551 blower and finish making his wheel weights and put chains on. Other than that we are ready. Oh well he only lives two doors away so I can just run up and do his drive.

I used to do that starting about ten years ago due to not getting very much snow and there was only one year that it payed off. My wife and I both have four wheel drive and my driveway is pretty steep. Since I picked up the 1782 and use it for mowing, the 2182 is going to have the plow mounted to it full time unless we get a lot of snow and something gets broken. Nice problem to have though.

I'm with you. I did a last minute refresh of my qa42a in the fall, and have yet to mount it on my 1450. I am holding out till I get some customizing done on the tractor. I did mount the blade on my original, but it has no weights or chains on it....because I'm holding out to see if get the 1450 done before it snows. I cleared yesterday's 1-1/2" of snow with a push Broom and a shovel. I figure if it's gonna be a lot of snow, the O will be ready in half hr or so.

You guys should just wait until tomorrow to procrastinate...

Wow, I can not believe there people out there who are as bad as I am about such things!

I hate to admit it, but in years past I have been out in the freezing cold, getting something ready to move snow with. Haven't done that in a few years now though.

I do have to say that I still have some grass here that I would like to get mowed before we get too far into winter.

I'll bet my Brother doesn't have the deck off of the 105 yet and the blade is probably still in the back of his truck.

Not this guy. I've been waiting for the snow to arrive, and the cubs been in winter mode for a while now with no snow to push. (well a little bit yesterday.)

Not this guy either...I did everything in early November BEFORE the cold, snow, wind, etc...Nice to have everything turn key! 1872 with the 450 blower, weighted and chained; 100 with 42 inch blade, weighted and chained; along with backups! Original with SIMS cab and BB-36, weighted and chained, and my 129 with the QA-36B with chains. Plus an '81 1086 with Westendorf loader...it sure doesn't pay to procrastinate around my neck of the woods.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
