Default Is this possible

I got an idea earlier and was wondering if it would be possible. I have a 1450, so it's hydro drive. Would there be any way possible to put a rear PTO on this Cub? I was thinking that I could do it with a separate hydraulic pump with lines to some sort of hydro gear. What do you guys think?

UHmmmmm...IIRC The rear PTO can only be installed on manual transmissions. Don't thnk you can do that with a Hydro like the 1450.

If you were to mount a front hydraulic pump on the motor, you could theoretically run hydraulic motor powered implements, front or rear.... It'd be pretty spendy for parts....and I'm not sure how much power would be available...

If you are looking for PTO power it might be better to find a 140 or other small tractor..

Possibilities of modifications to anything are only limited by your imagination, skills & abilities, and your bank account.

I'm interested in 'what will it run?'

Hydraulic power? easy enough to twist the frame like a pretzel. Hydraulic motor with pto stub? you are probably in the $500 range....pump, hoses, spool, brakets, relief valve,.....all together ?????$1200++++

But still everyone misses the point of the question.....???????

I'd like to see if anyone gets it.

Jim:

There was a Rear PTO Kit that CCC/MTD offered for the 982. It was for the Cubs with the Aluminum Rear End (S/N: 720,000 >). IH "NEVER" offered a Rear PTO Kit for anything they made for a Hydro Drive Tractor.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
