Default Obligatory Pictures of the 2182

About a month ago I was having breakfast with an old car buddy and we were talking about our projects. I mentioned I was going to refurbish my CC122 and he said he had a CC that I may be interested in. It quit on him in the middle of mowing, no spark, and he used that as an excuse to buy a zero turn. Long story, we agreed that I would take the 2182. The weather and ground cooperated enough that I got over and picked it up today. It is all and more than I had figured. 622 hours showing on the clock, hydraulics, engine, coolant all look like new. No signs of major wear anywhere. The 5' deck is solid, not pretty but has new spindles, blades and deck belt.
So now the fun begins. The 122 will wait a while longer.

Newbie here but, I can tell a good deal when I "see" it.

Nice Cub and be sure to update the forum when you resurrect the dead tractor. We need to know what, why and how.

Hey, I'm gettin' an education here!

Ray

Looked at your pics a second time, I see a couple things wrong with the tractor not bad just not what it should be. Nothing to be concerned about and in one case in my opinion better than what it should have had from the factory. Holler if you want more info.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
