After many threats, the 1864 is finally getting re done. Nightow1 got the basics torn down and cleaned with my Hotsy. To start, we are going to pull the axle tubes and drill the drain holes and replace the seals and gaskets.
I have been buying parts for the last couple years in anticipation of this. Tonight i purchased the 3point plate from xmw. Kinda excited! Got a decent little list started.... should be interesting |

Welp i just spent some more money...
I ordered the paint, new hydro springs, spacers, and rear end gaskets from r.f. houtz. At this point i need to get the frame prepped for paint, do the rear end drain mod, install new gaskets in the rear end, and replace the hydro springs. Once the paint shows up i can begin painting the frame and rear end. Once this part is completed i get to start on the threepoint and hydraulics! I did measure the 3pt arms on my 982 and found they are only 2" longer than the gt ones. I don't like how the gt arms can rub on the tires if they are set in the lowest forward most hole. (Keeping the very end of the arms closesed to the tractor as possible) Dont like stabilizer chaines either. SO my plan is to build duplicate sgt arms that are shorter in length, then build the sway blocks that mount to the actual plate. This will keep the arms close to the plate, away from the tires while allowing me to have the 20" spread that is the industry standard! No pix but hopefully soon |

Do you have any plans of putting hydraulic front ports on your tractor while it apart? They're pretty nice to have just in case you ever need them. Being as your spending more $$$$$$!!! Sorry! lol
