Default Mower deck frame mounting

Recently got a 149 to try to revive....first cub I owned in 20+ years.
looked underneath and the link on the deck frame that goes over the rod is currently on the rod at the foot rest....I can also see where there is wear on another shaft under the tractor where it once was which I think is the shaft for the lift....
Question is which is the proper place for it.....

Yes....but what rod is that arm with the forked end around.??
I know there is a round rod that is welded under tractor that goes out to the foot rest and also another shaft just a bit higher that I think is part of the lift mechanism.....
Both of them on my tractor shows some wear on them so I am guessing that in the past they were both used....just not sure which is correct.

That's a really good pic for explaining several things. Is that in the tech library?

I will be playing with my deck collection tomorrow and will see if I can enlighten you.
But I do believe you need a different pickle fork hanger thingy.

I think you are correct, FWIW.

At first I thought the "pickle fork" was worn out and broken off..... but since you said that I would say that it has a WF mule, with a NF subframe. I've played around with combining the two before to make a deck work on another tractor..... more headache than it was worth to just find the right one.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
