Default Project: IH.dumpcart

Took some soda cans to the scrap yard yesterday and spotted this International Harvester dumpcart. So we traded the cans for the trailer. She is twisted a bit. I dont think it was taken care of. I dont know anything about it. But with a little sanding and factory paint, wheels and some elbo greese, it can still be saved. Any thoughts about it? Have about 2 more weeks of bills, then I can begin. Thanks, John.

John,

Great find! You have an IH #2 cart. They are getting hard to find. Here's a pic of my #2 cart. It'll be getting a paint job sometime, but I enjoy using it for now.

Wow, great find, you just can't beat a deal like that!

Hope the Wife didn't get mad about you "trading" the cans for the trailer. If she did, tell her that you remember hearing a story about a little boy who once traded a cow for some beans...

Wow, I did not know that! Awesome, you guys made my day! A 4.5 " flap wheel on my angle grinder should make for quick work of the rust and a lot less hand sanding. The #2 cart seeme to be solid and not rusted through. It even has inside stake pockets, and I've just happen to have some nice, finnished side stakes that I was going to put on the al'cheap-o cart. The axels seem strait.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
