Default After Market Snow Blade/Plow for 2544?

Title says it all: I'm really having a hard time finding an aftermarket snow / dozer blade for my GT 2544. The cub is $700, and MTD reps redirect me to that one, but there must be a less expensive alternative.

Anyone know what options there are? Thanks much!

The one for $700 is probably the only one that's a direct bolt on, you might get lucky and find one used on Craigslist or if you had a welder and some skill you could modify one from a different brand to fit.

Here is a link to the Cub Parts site showing the parts that go with one of these plows. Looks like lots of stuff. Have fun.

Ebay is not a bad option -- as long as I can figure out where newton Iowa is.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
