I went to work this morning before farm work, before work. And at the scrap yard I spied the 123. I'am leaning heavy on getting it next week. All the sheetmetal is good with no rust. No seat, no mower deck. The rims and tires are still good with little rust. I would like to say the hydro unit and rear end is complete and still working. But I was shocked to see what the PO had come up with for a motor. Dont know what kind of motor it is, but it is toast. And to top it off, they had cut the frame on the right side of the tractor to make this silly motor fit. A real downer, man! But the gas tank and sediment bowl is still there and the stearing unit is good as well as the front axel unit. No carb., I'am leaving the junk motor there and will get this "roller" even cheaper yet. So basicly I'am getting it for parts, The fact its a 123, and to maybe help a fellow cubby out, as I dont run the hydro. I know later on, I can make something very usefull out of it.....maybe a IH cub cadet 123 generator! Wish i had picts., most likely going to save it. What do you all think? Next week regardless if I get it, I will get some picts. up! Thanks, John

Well, here it is! My IH Cub Cadet 123. Traded my old .22 for it today. The motor is a Wisconson engine that looks to be toast. The frame had been cut to fit this motor
It is gonna be a parts tractor, which some of the parts I'll fix and paint to maybe sell later on.

HEY!! I just saw a 123 frame on Ebay for $10.00! Maybe you can make a runner out of it after all. Even if you can't, or decide not to it looks like money in the bank to me. Hell, if it has the rear lift parts I'll buy them to put on mine.
By the way, I've seen that hdro rear in rough rebuildable shape up for sle for $150.00 locally.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
