Default Hello from new Cub owner

Hey guys,

I bought my first Cub 2 weeks ago and stumbled into all of this by accident. I just built a house near Hershey, PA and I have just under 2 acres, so I was looking for a mower/tractor with a lot of versatility. Didn't really have a brand in mind, but I was unimpressed with what I was seeing at the Big Box stores. I grew up on a farm and have driven many IH and JD tractors of all sizes. The mower I started on as a kid was JD 318 I think.

Anyway, I was looking at some used tractors and there it was, a gorgeous 129 that had recently been rebuilt. I was smitten and now here I am! My first own tractor and my first Cub Cadet!

There are only 100 hours on the rebuild, and it came with an IH snow blade, a Brinly plow and a set of tire chains.

What do you guys think? From the research I've done so far, I can tell a few things might not be factory correct, but she runs great, I just did my first mow on Saturday.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
