I have a 1/8 mile wide by 1/2 mile deep property. The house in front woods in the back. Why is it that I run out of gas or like today the ball joint on the steering box failed. As far from the house as possible. Then nobody is home or hear the phone. I have nice 3/8 mile or farther walk, one way.
So how far have you walked? Also what would you try to carry with you on your Cub?

I mowed a lady's yard last year. It was close enough to ride. I had flat on day and had to walk home to get a spare. Maybe 3/4 of mile walk.

Its called Murphy's Law and it is always in effect. If I was a Proclaimer, I would walk 5,000 miles for my cub.....but I am not. I would walk as far as necessary, because what is your alternative and besides.....It's a cub cadet! What do I try to carry on my cub?.....A woman, of course with my license plate on the front, "Gas, Grass, or A$$.....No one rides for free!"

I never walked that far because one broke down....
When I was a kid, I mowed rural yards for older widows of farmers. They were miles away from my home, and I wasn't old enough to drive. My dad drove a truck, and mom was busy with all my younger brothers, so, I drove the mower to the houses. Farthest I ever drove dad's cub was probably 5 miles one way. I carried gas with me.... and no one owned cell phones.

I like to walk 2 miles a day, especially in winter, as I am not as active as I am in the summer.
I once drove a combine 61 miles home from an auction, it took a while @ 12 mph. Beautiful ride @ that pace, you see things you don't normally notice. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
