Default Super Garden Tractor Question
Looking for the next rehab project (SGT), I stumbled upon another forum’s “list” mentioning other Supers such as JD 400/420/430, and Case/Ingersoll 400 Series. Are they really considered super garden tractors? I was under the assumption (per Wikipedia/Oscar Will III) that only IH/CCC built Super Garden Tractors (higher center of gravity, stretch frame and bigger HP). Are the JD and Case SGT’s?

The JD 400 series are definitely in the "super garden tractor" category as far as size, power, attachments etc.

Once you see a 430 in person you will have no doubts that it's a super.
400 implements are specific to that series also and they are really proud of them
cost wise. Like anything green I guess

Looks like their added length was more in the nose? Maybe to squeeze the Yanmar in? I have the chance to get their little brother 318. Only considering it for front hydraulics and Onan......or maybe not

My neighbor has a JD 420, and a JD 430 with the Perkins 3 cylinder diesel. These are without doubt "super" garden tractors! Nice folks, and we get along great being I'm a die hard IH Cub Cadet loyalist!

430 had a Yanmar engine from the factory..... Did he change it?
