Default New guy from Wisconsin

I bought a 1440 this past summer, so this is new to me. I enjoy the feel of driving it. (it's not all that old being it's a 1994 model) It sure appears to be solidly built. (wish the hood and side panels weren't plastic though) It's given me the "bug" and I'm constantly looking on "Craigslist" at other "Cubs" and accessories. Found a snowplow that wasn't correct, but made some brackets to get it to work. Now I'm looking for a "snowblower" or a "thrower". But I need to get my battery light to stay off when I engage the PTO first. (but for now, I'll just use the plow) I did send a letter to the administrator asking for an electrical schematic, because I couldn't figure out how to post. I think I may have finally achieved that. Smile Thanks!

Thanks for the welcoming, I've been enjoying reading and learning. You have a great forum with a lot of interesting problems. ( I wish I would have gotten my first "yellow tractor" before I retired) My first fab job, took a little longer with the sawzall and hand drill. (at work I had access to mills , lathes , bandsaws and torches) Plus the materials were more reasonable.

Welcome Gary!! You now have the fever!!

Those 1440's are great machines.. you will get used to the plastic... I said the same thing when I got my first Cyclops 3 years ago.. The stuff is actually very durable and you can clean and shine it with a buffer and some heavy compound..

I was a die hard IH metal hood guy for years... still am... but the Cyclops tractor has grown on me alot...

Default In over my head

Hi I just got on board with some cubs . I have an1250 that wont charge and a 123 that has no spark. Can someone give a frozen Canadian some ideas on these problems. I also proudly own a 124,850 ,1811 and a 1100 that's needs a motor. But that's another story for another time.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
