John Deere or Cub PTO
I recently sold my old 1811 and going through some of my old parts boxes I have found a used PTO. The JD 318 PTO and the CC 1811 PTO look almost identical. I have looked for a model or serial number on the PTO but cannot find one. Can anyone tell me how to tell the difference or to identify the one I have? It is a one wire model.

Look up the Part Number for the JD318, then go to the Warner Electric site and see what it cross references to. Do the same of the Cub Cadet. See if they match.

If the JD had an Onan in it the muffler bracket mounts on the top of the motor, so there will be no marks on the pto flange.A 1811 one will leave a clean or shadow area on it from the Mag 18 muffler mounted over it.

I measured the PTO shaft hole in the unit and it was one inch. The JD PTO is 1 7/16 so it is a Cub unit. If anyone needs a real nice piece drop me a PM.
