Advanced citizenship.
I am on jury duty. Uhg! The process is interesting. I was picked yesterday and proceedings have started today. Got my phone back at lunch. I am lucky, my employer pays me my wages instead of the NY state guarantee of $40 per day. And it is only half the distance to the court house than to my job. Those are the bright sides. I have never been picked before. And no, it ain't like TV.

I would actually like to sit on a jury. I've been picked but when lawyers ask you if you have friends or relatives that are police officers, which I do, you are usually dismissed. It goes like this:
Lawyer-"Do you have friends or relatives who are police officers?" Me-"Yes". Lawyer-"Do you think you can be impartial in this matter?" Me-"Yes". Lawyer-"Thank you. Your Honor, we dismiss this juror."
