You state the engine is brand new. I am assuming you have documents that came with the engine, to include Installation Instructions. With that in mind, did it supply you with and Electrical Diagram...??

The Kohler Command had four Ignition Options:
(A) Standard Fixed
(B) Smart Spark
(C) Smart Spark Advanced
(D) Digital Spark Advance Ignition, DSAI

As best as I can see, your engine is (A)...????

Using a test light, It doesn't appear to be getting current to the fuel shutoff valve at the carb. Ran a hot wire from battery to carb, it ran... now where to either find the open or splice into hot wire when key on run.

no install papers, No diagrams. But it fit perfect. I checked the wiring from old engine and every wire is the same, best I could tell without pulling engine., I checked low pressure oil wire, it goes to same place in harness.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
