I bit the bullet and let this 2185 find its way on my trailer. At the price I couldn't refuse. It fired right up and ran nice with no smoke or noises and I drove it on the trailer. As you can see the PO had been working on it, he had put a new starter on it and was in the process of trying to get the pto to work, gave up on it and decided to get rid of it. It looks as if he had tried to straight wire the pto and in the process cut some wires and had by passed the safety switches.
What I need is a wiring diagram that is color coded in order for me to try and get the safety switches hooked back and then maybe I can diagnose the problem with the pto and any other issues the tractor has. In my searching of the internet I couldn't find anything of help. Also the hood and side panels are real good shape as is the tractor and deck over all. Any help would be appreciated. Great deal Larry. If Roland doesn't get you one soon I can email you one but it looks like there are 3 different ones depending on the year so I would need your ser# or build date. If you need it, PM me your email address. I don't think I know how to post a PDF file on here.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
