Default Tired of EPAY

I’m really getting tired of all the fees and crap connected with selling on epay.

In order to cover the costs of “doing business” I have to push my prices so high that no one can afford to buy anything.

Ebay fees are one thing, but now (to the best of my knowledge) sellers are required to accept some form of electronic payment (primarily Pay Pal) then Pay Pal (who is owned by ebay) takes their cut, 3.9% I think, and that's not only on what you sell but they take the same percentage on shipping fees as well. By the time it's all said and done, ebay ends up with more than $10.00 on a $100.00 sale, and I think that is too much.

Is there anywhere else that reaches a lot of people, that doesn’t have so many fees, and that doesn’t “make” me use Pay Pal or another form of payment that eats up all of the profit?

Where else do you guys buy and sell stuff?

I feel your frustration. I have used Craigslist quite a bit locally, and have even found some items from out of state that sellers were willing to ship and vice versa. Its a little tougher without the feedback profile to see if someone is reliable, but its worked well for me so far. There are some other forums as well as this one that Ive done some trading and selling on as well.

I've also had good luck using Craigslist.

I've had very good luck with Craigslist over the years, but only as a buyer. Never as a seller. I would say as with anything if it gets more popular they will charge a fee too. If E-Pay had some real competition maybe we could see some changes.

The part that anyone can trash a seller and cost them even more money by dinging them on the buyer "happiness" survey is a crock also.

CL isn't bad, but you get pounded with spam bad (in this area at least)..

E-Pay is for buyers not sellers anymore. They can leave negative feedback for you but you can't.

Long story: Wife sells on epay. I parted out an S-10. I made my money on it. It had a set of 2" drop spindles. I sold them for more than he could buy new. The guy paid fairly fast. I packed them( a little heavy) for my wife. after 3 or 4 days he emailed wanting to know where they were. This is a lessen learned my wife didn't get delivery confirmation (81 cents I think). The guy lives in Indiana. The guy filed a claim on E-Pay. Paypal put a hold on the money he paid me and eventually took it back. Wife called his postmaster and postmaster talked to the route driver for the post office. I packed the spindles in an old Fry Daddy box. The mail lady remembered the box and because it was too heavy for her to lift, she knocked on the door and a lady answered. She called for her husband to come get the heavy box. He got the spindles and his money back too. Paypal and Epay said without delivery confirmation we have no proof!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
