trencher on a cub
Has anyone ever seen here ever seen or heard of a trencher mounted to a cub?Ive been pondering this for a while and have been gathering up the pieces to maybe start this project.I have a vermeer v1150 walk behind with a bad engine here that I could use for the build.I also just picked up a 102 with a creeper or a 129 hydro I could use for the tractor.This whole idea is just in the pondering stage so theres lots to work out.I would have to fab a carrier for it to mount on the rear of the cub.The hydraulics would be another issue pump mounts and valve bodies to figure out as well.Weight would be another issue needing to keep it down.I dont think it would weigh anymore than a tiller depending on how much the mount would weigh.Well with that let me know what you guys think...

i think that if you ever fab it up, and get everything finished, you can make some money at my house. but seriously, i have never heard of a trencher on the back of a cub, but that shouldn't stop you. good luck

I seen a pic, of a 147 with a trencher. Now I can't recall where it was.

I have seen pics of one before. Do not know if it is dealer installed . Probably the same one Acecil saw.

I found one on the net it was called a ground saw made my hawk built or neeson inhoffer. They went under in the early 70s from what I have found.It was a kit that was made for the cub and others.Wish I could get a good pic of one...lol..give me a good start for mine...

I am new, as of today. I looked at the Trencher shown by "Transformer" and see that it is very similar to mine. The trencher shown in the picture was kept in better condition than mine.
I have started the process of repairs due to neglect and outside storage for all those years. The engine, hydraulics and drive now all work very good. I was lucky and also found all the information on the Vermeer trencher, that was installed on the Cub Cadet. Vermeer actually has all of the old files for this unit. I have done a few trenching jobs, free for neighbors. It does build good will in ranch country. When I have the opportunity I will upload pictures. Hank
