Default my new tractor

I'm going to be restoring this cub cadet 1450 with 14hp. This is my first cub cadet and I'm new to this and will be learning as time goes on.It's in running condition but still needs some work..like a paint job for starters.

tractorguyintraining Nice find on the 1450. This my friend is where the addiction starts. There is no 12 step program for cub addiction. My wife is even finding for me now. She must be the enabler.

Congrats on your new 1450! Wish mine looked that nice when I got it. Just a friendly suggestion: I know paint is the first thing you want to do, but get any and all mechanical work needed done first. You don't want to start removing painted parts to fix things. I learned the hard way.

is it true that Your Dad had to talk you into getting this 1450.I heard you wanted to keep the Bolen and pass on the cub up. Is this true?

the bolens was just my first tractor and i didn't want to get rid of it.but after i rode his cub cadet 1811...i knew i wanted to get it...and then i rode the cub cadet i have now and i knew this was the tractor i wanted. It would have been a stupid choice to pass this offer just because it was my first tractor.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
