Default 149 engine bolts

Hello all,

I just purchased a 149. Seems the engine wants to jump out of garden tractor. Does anyone know the part numbers of the bolts? Also how hard is this job going to be? I've already dropped the deck, the mule drive, and the pan covering the oil?

If you grab the engine and shake it, is it physically loose? Its not really a difficult job to replace the bolts, but if it was loose you need to look for other damage that may have occurred. Do you have some close up pics of the mounting, drive shaft, etc

As far as part numbers do. You can just match up bolts at local hardware store

I can grab some pictures after work, I don’t believe there is any damage but the engine does move.. there are 4 bolts? Do you use lock tight? I definitely think I should replace the joint flex disc.. I think that’s what it’s called .

If the motor had an aluminum pan it had the tendency to have stripped bolt holes.

The 4 bolts are 3/8 x 1" coarse thread.
I would use grade 5
You will have to raise the front of the tractor to full tilt the axle right and then left in order to access the two front bolts.

So all the bolts are missing from the engine that bolt it to the frame.. funny thing is there seems to be plenty of thread left to bolt up to yet.. it’s hard to see in the pictures but I can definitely get a bolt started.. next question do I use lock washers and locktite? Also what spec do these get torqued at?
