Default HDS 2135 ground speed adjustment

I have been searching the site, the internet, and the manual for adjusting the ground speed on my cub cadet 2135.
Anyone have any real world pictures of what the adjustment process looks like. I read the manual, but I am not quite following along with it. I am more of a visual/applied learner

OK. I crawled under the cub today (big guy, no lift, small space, that sucked). The manual says there is an adjustment rod and an adjustment ferrule on the left side of the mower. However, there is now ferrule, but the rod is had a connector in the middle held by 2 bolts that can be adjusted. Am I correct in assuming that adjusting the position of these rods will increase forward speed and decrease reverse speed?

On the right side there is an adjustment ferrule, but this is for the brake. I assume that I do not need to adjust this in order to gain more forward speed.

The reason I want to adjust the forward speed is because I am only getting between 2.5 and 3 mph right now. checked it against hand held GPS.

Are you sure your achieving max RPM from engine? There could be other causes for not moving as fast as it should

I do not have a light or an RPM gauge, but it sounds like it is running full RPMs.

Have you checked your trans/hydro fluid level? Has the fluid ever been changed? Also have you checked the relief valves? Have you used the relief valves lately to move the tractor manually?

Fluid level is good and looks clean. I have never changed it, but I have all of the fixins needed to change it.
Lever to engage and disengage the trans works perfect, have moved it by hand a few times with no issue.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
