Default QA-42a lift rod
I just bought a QA-42a for my 125 this weekend. I believe it is complete except for a lift rod. I was wondering if anyone could post a picture of a lift rod and maybe get me some measurements so I can make one for my thrower?

There were different lengths of lift rods. I have a QA42A for my 2182 and I don't know if the rod length is the same. In fact, the PO gave me two different length lift rods.

It's literally a rod with a 90° bend on each end, and a hole for a cotter pin. I can measure the diameter if it helps.

measure the length between holes and make one, easy enough.
I'd make one end adjustable, as in turnbuckle or clevis.
Do you have the lift rod bracket for the 125?
You will need that

I don’t have one of those, I was planning on just making one but if there’s a place I can buy one online I’ll probably just do that

Morning JoshM Here is a picture off of the QA-42 I think it is the same as the
42A
but hopefully someone will clue me in if it is not.
It has a few bends and even a twist, don't know if that is original or
custom from before I owned it. It is made of 1/2" round stock and
is 31 and 1/2 inch between the 90's.

Definitely not the same, as a 2182 should have a 451/551 2x blower.

Should have? They were available, sure, but you can mount a QA42A to a 2182 as well. As I said in the comment you responded to, mine is a QA42A, NOT the 2-stage 451/551.

Needs to have, if you wish it to work correctly.

The 2182 has a smaller diameter PTO pulley which will not spin your snow thrower fast enough to work properly.

I'm not saying you can't cobble it together, but it wasn't meant to be.

I'm so sick of wrong advice that wasn't asked for on this site. I didn't ask for your advice, and you're incorrect about the use of a QA42A with my 2182. But thanks for the unnecessary aggravation.
