Default Round and round

I’m not into nascar but my cc 3225 seems to be. Has power steering if you don’t want to turn right at all. Slowly started only turning left late last fall. Figured I would fix it over winter and I didn’t fix it. After looking it over I thought I better get some pro input before I started the diagnosis. So after going through 14 faq pages w/o finding anyone w this problem I guessed I should start a new thread . This cc is 1998 I believe w/kawasaki on board. Do I fix it or scrap it? Motor seems solid no smoke or drinking issues as of last fall. Deck still in fairly good shape could use painted but…..!!! Anyone w/input welcome to comment as I am new to this forum . Thanks in advance for your help..

Your steering cylinder is blowing fluid by the seal on the piston sounds like. Common issue on a tractor that old. Easy to fix.

If your machine has the FD620 Kawi engine it is a model 3205. These were made in 1998 & 1999. These are great machines with an awesome engine.

Be very careful when engaging the diff lock on all 3000 series machines. Lots of good reading on this issue.

As CDF has said, it looks like your steering cylinder is the issue. People have cut them apart and replaced the internals and re-welded them back together. If you don't want to go that route then here is the company that made them for Cub at a good price.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
