I got a deal on a second Cub 2000GT
Both appear to have the Kohler Command CH640 as expected. However the air filter cover on one says Command PRO 20 while the other says Command 20. I did a little googling and supposedly the "Pro" is for commercial or high-demand applications. Crank and bearings are beefier, cooling fins are larger etc etc. I've never heard of this. Is it correct? SN#s are: PS-CH640-3100 PS-CH640-3051

I noticed this back when I had a 2155. I think all "Command" engines are "Command Pro" its just different naming based on the year? I'm not exactly sure and maybe someone else could chime in, but I'm pretty sure they are the same? Command is the commercial engine and Courage is the consumer?

You are correct Apex944 the Command is the normal engine the Command Pro is a beefed up version

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
