149 Value
Ok, so there's a 149 near me that I am probably going to go and look at. It's supposed to be in good running order, paints a little faded. it has a replacement 14hp kohler engine and new battery, but no mower or mule drive. Owner is entertaining best offers for the tractor. I'm in NE PA...so what do you think would be a fair offer. I know it's whatever I'd be willing to pay, but I don't want to get ripped off, and I don't want to insult the owner. What do you guys think? thanks in advance,
Jason P.S. I'd really like something with hydraulic lift and that's why I was interested in the 149.

In my part of the country, that's probably a $250 tractor. You didn't say how new the 'new' motor is...that's kinda meaningless if it's got 1000 hours on it. Also depends on the condition of the tires, steering, sheetmetal, etc...

I would just work that thing in to the herd and let her notice it. Don't think if it were the other way around you wouldn't see " Oh this dress I've had it for months" and I'll be doing that with the 1650 next week when I bring it home, I have already been moving all of my cubs around in the yard to try and run interference.

I just saw your profile... Take your work home with you and work her back or any sore spot she may have into agreement if that fails I'm sure you could bring home a large Tens Unit and shock her into your way of thinking. Just keep saying to yourself " I don't have enough Cub Cadets" and I need this thing for (fill in the blank) in the future it always works for me.
