The previous owner of my 1872 obviously ran into something a few times and also drilled a couple of holes in the rear fender. I was going to replace the fender as I can straighten out the damage somewhat but I don't want to add bondo and I know it'll never be right but then I found this little trunk/toolbox and I thought it might hide most to the damage/repair.
![]() The box is made by Aaron Schmidt at Extrememotorworks and it's very well made and worth every penny of the $60 shipped price. ![]() My three year old son actually installed it, he'll be a fine mechanic someday. Really he did it himself. ![]() Covers it perfectly. ![]() Great for gloves, tools, or a couple of cold bottles of water. It came in the raw, I primed it with self-etching primer and I used some rattle can paint to give it color for now untill I strip the entire tractor and paint it properly. Scott |

murphycc,
Great idea. The 169 has the same type damage and i was thinking about that type of box to cover it up. If you have the rear lift installed will it still clear the tool box? Great pictures. |

YES....That is a good idea Aaron came up with. It would be great to install one even if didn't have any damage to cover up.

Looks good, but in my opinion, the cost should be more around the $40 or $45 range, including the shipping!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
